The information is used, among other things, to keep statistics and serves as a basis for making improvements to the website and provide a better user experience.
In some cases, the Norwegian Petroleum Society (NPF) display advertisements (ads) on other websites. In order for us to be able to assess the results of the ads, we want to measure the number of visitors who come to us via links from these ads. This technique is not used to track or identify specific visitors, only to optimize the advertising.
“Data controller” is the term for the primary person who has responsibility and duties under The Personal Data Act. NPF is the data controller for personal data processed when using the services on the website.
We only collect information about you when you fill in the form “Become a member”, when you choose to register for a meeting or conference and/or when you sign up for our newsletter. In all these cases you will be asked if you wish to receive further information from us.
NPF does not share e-mail adresses or phone numbers of our members and participants with third parties. Any attempt to sell such information to you as an individual or to your employer is not legitimate and does not originate from NPF’s database.
