Annual Petroleum Economic Conference

STAVANGER

Welcome to the Annual Petroleum Economics Conference 2018

Dear friends and colleagues.

It is a great pleasure and honor to welcome you to the Annual Petroleum Economics Conference 2018 – to be held at Clarion Hotel Air-Sola on 25 and 26th of September. This traditional economics conference is your opportunity to get the latest and greatest update from the industry and a unique opportunity to network and meet new colleagues.

Times are certainly exciting. The oil price has recovered maybe earlier than expected – but we are still phasing high uncertainty and high volatility going forward. As a response to the oil price crash the industry is demanding higher returns and higher robustness when making capital investments, meaning the role of the economist is more important than ever. This year’s conference includes a mix of finance and economics topics which aims to strengthen your competence as an E&P professional.

The market on the NCS remains liquid and the latest transactions continues the trend of “Big Oil” being replaced by smaller private equity companies. We will give you an overview of the latest transactions and the outlook going forward. Last but not least digitalization is the word everyone is talking about. How will this impact the future of E&P? How will digitalization impact the role of the economist? These are some of the topics you will learn about on this year’s conference.

We hope you will join us for two interesting days in September and our sincere wish is that this will be a memorable event. Welcome!
