Exploration Revived

Norwegian Petroleum Society (NPF) is proud to present our 1st Biennial Petroleum Geology Conference in Bergen 15 – 16 March 2005. The title is “Exploration Revived (New plays, new areas, new methods, new mindsets)”.  In other words – in 2005 this will be a pure exploration conference. The objective is to give exploration on the Norwegian Shelf a new initiative, following a number of years with dwindling exploration results and falling activity level.

All papers to be presented have been by invitation. Leading exploration companies/professionals will present state of the art material on a wide range of key exploration areas and issues, however, focusing on new exploration trends in Norway.

Our venue for the conference is the Radisson SAS Hotel Norge. The hotel is situated in the centre of Bergen, a beautiful city with an important scientific and cultural heritage.

On the evening before the conference, we are pleased to invite you to an ice breaker hosted by the University of Bergen, Monday 14th March 2004 at 2000 hrs at “Knut Fægri’s Hus”, Villavei 9, Bergen.

At the end of the conference’s first day, we offer a city walk in the Bergen harbour area (including the old “Bryggen” complex).
