Exploration Revived 2013

Bergen

Dear Fellow Explorationists,

I am pleased to invite you to the 5th NPF Biennial Petroleum Geology Conference, scheduled for Bergen 18-20 March 2013. The coming conference will, based on our previous success, also be a pure exploration conference – Exploration Revived 2013.

The organizing committee has put together a great program, consisting of 22 attractive papers (all by invitation), from good case histories integrating geology and geophysics, through basin exploration overviews, exploration strategy and Key Notes on important exploration issues.

The much-coveted Exploration Revived Award 2013 will be announced during the conference dinner. We believe this contributes to stimulating exploration on the NCS and urge you to nominate candidates to the separate Award Committee (see by-laws and Award committee on our home page below).

A record of 445 participants discovered our exciting conference in 2011.
Join us in 2013!  (please note that the conference capacity is approximately 450, first come – first served!).

Welcome (back) to beautiful Bergen and Grieghallen.

Regards – for NPF

Exploration Revived Award

The intention behind this award is to stimulate the exploration on the Norwegian shelf. It will be awarded biennially at the NPF Exploration Revived conference in Bergen.

The award will be given to groups or companies who, over the preceding two years, have contributed to moving Exploration of the shelf forward by:

Testing new play concepts and/or exploration models
– Testing high risk/high potential targets
– Exploring for upside potential in producing fields
– Reducing exploration risk by developing and/or applying new techniques
– Any other combination of ideas, technology and risk taking resulting in
revived exploration or production

The award will be based on nominations from the exploration community in Norway. It will be decided by a committee appointed by the Exploration Revived conference organizing committee.

The prize will consist of a lithographic print and a certificate/diploma.

For the 2013 the Exploration Revived Award Committee consists of:
