Exploration Revived 2017
Dear Fellow Explorationists,
NPF and the Programme Committee is looking forward to welcoming you in Sola 13-15 March 2017 for the 7th NPF Biennial Petroleum Geology Conference, taking place at the Clarion Hotel Air.
The Conference is named “Exploration Revieved 2017 – Breaking New Ground”
Invited speakers from the industry and academia will cover many different aspects of breaking new ground in Exploration, involving new or revived plays, new ways of integrating data, new technology, new strategies in times of low oil price etc…
The conference will start with an Icebreaker on 13 March followed by two full days of presentations during 14-15 March.
The much-coveted “Exploration Revived Award” for 2017 will be announced during the conference dinner 14 March. The award is aimed at stimulating exploration on the NCS. The Award Committee urges you to nominate candidates for the Award Committee’s consideration (see by-laws and Award Committee below).
Welcome to Exploration Revived and beautiful Sola!
Exploration Revived Award
The intention behind this award is to stimulate the exploration on the Norwegian shelf. It will be awarded biennially at the NPF Exploration Revived conference, this time in Sola.
The award will be given to groups or companies who, over the preceding two years, have contributed to moving Exploration of the shelf forward by:
- Testing new play concepts and/or exploration models
- Testing high risk/high potential targets
- Exploring for upside potential in producing fields
- Reducing exploration risk by developing and/or applying new techniques
- Any other combination of ideas, technology and risk-taking resulting in revived exploration or production.
The award will be based on nominations from the exploration community in Norway. It will be decided by a committee appointed by the Exploration Revived conference organizing committee.
The prize will consist of a lithographic print and a certificate/diploma.
