The Biennial Geophysical Seminar 2026

Kristiansand

The Biennial Geophysical Seminar 2026
“Flatten the Curve”

For more than forty years, the Biennial Geophysical Seminar has been a popular Norwegian technology and networking event, showcasing recent achievements, case studies, industry trends, and new developments in geophysical techniques.

The Norwegian Petroleum Society (NPF) is pleased to invite the geo-community, both in Norway and abroad, to join the next Geophysical Seminar, taking place 17–19 March 2026 at Hotel Caledonien in Kristiansand.

To meet the energy security challenge and maintain production on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, the geophysical community is expected to constantly deliver ever better products and services to obtain valuable information of the subsurface, fast and at a low cost. In the years ahead we will probably see an increase in the demand of these services, not only for oil and gas exploration and development, but also for a wide range of new applications such as carbon storage, geothermal prospecting, mineral exploration, windfarm prospecting, landslides, avalanches, and water resource mapping.

The Program Committee and NPF are delighted to welcome you to Kristiansand in March 2026!

On behalf of the Program Committee,
Vetle Vinje, Viridien
Committee Chair
