Paul Horsman is an international campaigner with over 25 years at the forefront of advocacy and campaigning on environmental and peace issues in different countries. He is a marine biologist with degrees from Newcastle University and Portsmouth Polytechnic.

Paul spent five years at sea on merchant ships. Then from 1989 he worked as a Greenpeace campaigner. In 1991 Paul led a Greenpeace expedition to the Persian Gulf assessing the environmental impacts of the ‘91 Gulf War. Subsequently he coordinated campaigns to challenge the oil industry as well as campaigning for the ‘solutions’ highlighted by the need to support the massive expansion of energy efficiency programmes and renewable energy technologies.

Since 2013 Paul has worked as a freelance environmental consultant and strategist.

Paul has worked in different parts of the world including Russia, the US, the Middle East, India, South America and South Africa. He has led delegations to conferences as well as expeditions. Most recently Paul led a Greenpeace team in response to the threat posed by the FSO Safer, moored off the Yemeni coast in the Red Sea.

Paul is an author with two books published and many articles, reports, and chapters.

Janice Elaine Williams, lead North Sea Supply Chain analyst based in Oslo. Main focus is on supporting the local E&Ps and large suppliers on market analysis throughout the energy sectors and segment. Industry experience from Equinor of over four years at Equinor as a senior supply chain consultant and contract lead, supporting oil and gas and offshore wind category management. Her Bachelor is from University of Houston and Masters is from NHH.

Manager for regulations and operational management in Offshore Norge working with operators and suppliers on the NCS advising on environmental regulations, decommissioning, diving and subsea assets.

Thorough experience with over 15 years in the oil and gas industry with legal counselling, regulatory development, leading contract negotiations, strategy
work, project management, digitalisation, change management, M&A, leading gas sales tenders, analysis and studies, and infrastructure projects.

Master’s degree in Law and bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

Worked for 42 years in the O&G industry and the main companies worked for are Aker Solutions (22 yrs) and Repsol/Talisman (14 yrs) and currently working for OKEA (3 yrs) as a decommissioning advisor.

Over the years have held many various positions such as Project Manager to Project Services Manager in many types of projects from new build to major offshore modifications projects as wells as decommissioning. The last 12 years focus has been on decommissioning on various types of assets including cross border.

Currently Chairman for Offshore Norge’s specialist decommissioning network and have been involved with this network for many years.

Laura is S&P Global Commodity Insights’ Managing Editor of the Ferrous Metals team in EMEA since 2020, leading news, steel price and market commentary coverage of finished, semi-finished and carbon-accounted steel, molybdenum and alloys in the region. Previously, she was covering European flat steel pricing and German steel news for Platts’ flagship steel publication Steel Business Briefing. Prior to joining S&P Global’s London office in 2016, Laura wrote for various UK B2B trade publications including covering the batteries and energy storage sector. Laura holds an MA from Humboldt University Berlin and received her accredited journalism qualification from the UK’s National Council for the Training of Journalists.

Bill has been involved in the promotion of Oil and Gas expertise and the UK supply chain for over 20 years and has extensive knowledge across the sector. During this time, he administered and actively participated on the Government/ Industry forum PILOT where many of the enabling initiatives for the UKCS were developed. Currently Bill is Head of Supply Chain at the North Sea Transition Authority where he is tasked with promoting and growing a competitive and competent service sector. This covers the entire spectrum from exploration through to decommissioning and now into energy transition where there is a focus on establishing new capabilities to serve this emerging market. In doing so the aspiration is to promote a supply chain which can compete on a global basis and win significant value for the UK economy.

Bill’s role includes working at a senior level with Operators/ Developers and Supply chain companies as well as other stakeholders and public bodies to successfully deliver UKCS project activity. Bill maintains strong links with sectorial and regional trade associations and as part of this participates on the board of EEEGR, Global Underwater Hub, NOF Energy and Decom North Sea.

Bill is a chartered surveyor and joined the UK Government Energy Department 22 years ago after working in the Scottish Executive's Rural Affairs Department. His efforts in promoting the Oil and Gas Supply chain were recognised in 2015 when he was awarded an OBE.

Torhild Nordtveit holds a Master of Laws from the University of Bergen (2007-2013), an LL.M. from the University of Heidelberg (2011-2013), and a Ph.D. from the University of Bergen (2021). Her Ph.D. thesis concerned the transferral of debts, which is the Norwegian approach to discharge of debts by novation. Since August 2024, she has been employed at the Faculty of Law at the University of Bergen as a postdoctoral researcher at the NFR funded FME HyValue. Her work experience entails work at the Norwegian Maritime Authority, the Norwegian Defense Logistics Organization, and as a private counsellor.

Natalia is a project manager and surveyor in marine consultants’ company Norships AS located in Kristiansand.
Natalia educated as marine engineer in Sankt Petersburg and started her caried back in 2008 as DNV surveyor in new building in Russia, Korea and Norway. After some years as DNV approval engineer in Lifting Appliances department and Project engineer at Top Drive department at MHWirth she was back to inspections on site.
Since 2017 she has worked as a marine surveyor focusing on overseeing ship and cargo control, lifting/loading operations in the port, managing hazardous materials inventories, and coordinating the export of ship waste. Natalia specializes in transboundary movement regulations and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
With a strong background in project management, she ensures efficient operations and risk mitigation in marine and logistics sectors.

Ingvild Jenssen is Founder and Director of the NGO Shipbreaking Platform, a global coalition of environmental and human rights non-governmental organisations working for sustainable ship recycling. She represents the coalition in advocacy work at the United Nations and European level. With a strong commitment to environmental justice and conviction that solutions are at hand, Ingvild has spearheaded the Platform’s work on corporate liability and contributed to several publications on the shipbreaking issue. She holds a MSc in Political Science from the University of Oslo.

Bjørn has over 25 years in the Oil & Gas industry, covering a span of positions from discipline engineering to project management. Currently he is leading the HSSE Management department in Vår Energi, responsible for HSSE managers and Authority liaisons across the company business in projects, operations and drilling.

Bjørn has worked for several operators on the NCS, and has gained expertise within barrier management, technical safety and HSSE as well as risk management and project management. He has background from engineering in Aker Offshore Partner back in 1997 and has worked for both Statoil and Shell before he started in Vår Energi 5 years back.

After over 20 years in the construction industry, he replaced wood and concrete with Aluminium.
In August 2024, he started a new career at Leirvik As infrastructure division as head of Sales and Market.

Alexander Gillebo is a Senior Engineer with OneSubsea and has been working in the Subsea industry for 20 years. Since 2021, ha has worked on multiple Re-use Projects of subsea production equipment.
Today he will share some insight in Re-Use in the subsea world.

Nordic Circles upcycle maritim steel from oil rigs and ships into building products. The first products have already been used in by Oslo Kommune and the National Aqvarium in Norway. The company have been awarded «world changing idea» by FastCompany, and have been given 70 million NOK from «Grønn Plattform», the Norwegian governments flagship for funding Norways green transition. They have already partnered with companies like Equinor, DNB, Skanska, AF Decom, EGD, Oslo kommune, Bergen kommune, NHH, Sintef and Maritime Bergen.

Born 1964 in Norway. Master in Physics and Mathematics, NTH 1989.
35 years experience, in the upstream industry, for the most part within technology development and management, spanning from R&D, financing, commercial rollout, including logistics and training, sustaining engineering, and technology investment through Corporate Venture, and now as a startup entrepreneur. He has worked for Baker Hughes Inteq, and Roxar, and later managing R&D portfolios for Norske Shell, and Shell International, and has had various board and advisory roles.

Svein is living in Stavanger with education from Stavanger Maritime College, Oil Production Technique. He started working wellservice in 1984.

Svein started his career with Smedvig (now Archer) and worked 13 years offshore in the NCS, mainly with slickline and mechanical wireline operations. He then moved onshore for 9 years and took on Operations Manager and Technical Manager positions.

In 2006 Svein moved to Muscat in Oman where he for 9 years held the Country Manager position for Aker Well Services (now Altus). He also spent a year with Vanguard Oiltools in Muscat before moving to Dubai where he worked for Wellcem as Area manager and Expro as Product Line Manager.

In June 2022 Svein Joined Aarbakke Innovation and took the role as Technical and Operational Manager for Axter.

Bertil has extensive experience in planning and executing decommissioning projects. He has long-standing expertise in this field has been instrumental in driving innovative solutions and ensuring successful project completions in the decommissioning field.

Niels Erik is Assistant Director for License Management in the Norwegian Sea at the Norwegian Offshore Directorate (NOD). At NOD Niels Erik is working with all phases of license management from award thru development, operations and finally decommissioning. He has a Master of Science degree in materials technology from The Norwegian University of Science and Technology - NTNU and in Business administration from the Norwegian Business School, BI. Niels Erik has more than 25 years industry experience. Prior to joining NOD, he worked mainly with operations, procurement, and projects in Norsk Hydro, Subsea 7 and Equinor.

His main responsibility is to maximize area potential and reservoir recovery from the FLX's assets, which currently include the Gina Krog, Eirin, Statfjord main field, and satellites. He holds a master degree with-in reservoir technology from NTNU Trondheim. He has held several leadership positions in Equinor mainly centered around area development and subsurface for field in operations. Prior to his position at FLX, Tverdal was leader for Statfjord A/B subsurface, and was also involved with the project leading up to the to FLX.

She has worked in oil and gas since 1998, starting in engineering at Aker (which later bought Kværner so that it became AkerKværner), where she worked on new fields such as Oseberg Sør, among other things.

In 2007, she joined Statoil working within technical safety and since 2011 as Technical Manager for Brage. It was therefore natural to join the Brage organization over to Wintershall when they bought Brage in 2013. She built up the Plant Integrity department in the Wintershall company (with all that entailed, i.e. hiring subject matter experts and a systematic/method for integrity monitoring). She has since worked in various roles in WintershallDea, including as a project manager. When OKEA bought Brage, she chose to join them and was given the position as VP for Modifications and Decommissioning. She has always worked with aging fields and therefore also have a special interest in the decommissioning phase. So despite a strange VP title (Mods and Decom?), she believes that working with modifications in aging fields gives us unique knowledge and expertise to take on a decommissioning assignment when the time comes. In the meantime, we are preparing ourselves so that we as a company and organization are ready, should such a project come our way.

She is also the Site Manager in Bergen for OKEA and sit in the board of NPF Bergen.

Education is Bachelor with Honours in Civil Engineering (education location is 3 years in Bergen for my engineering education, then two years at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow for her civil engineering education).

Mette Nygård is an experienced Project Manager with 20 years in the oil and gas industry and 5 years in onshore energy and HVAC industry. Currently, she leads the Ula Tambar Decommissioning project and serves as the ULA Asset Management Representative for Projects in Aker BP. Mette is also Project Manager for Infill Well projects on Tambar. Previously she has been project manager for smaller field development projects, infill wells and topside maintenance and modification projects.

Martha Vasquez is a core member of the Energy practice at Boston Consulting Group, specializing in upstream oil and gas, and oil and gas assets decarbonization and decommissioning.

Martha’s consulting experience for clients worldwide includes strategy, diagnostics and benchmarks, cost reduction, cost models, commercial due diligence, and digital dashboards. She has worked on projects covering upstream oil and gas exploration, development, production operations, decarbonization, and decommissioning.

Before joining the firm, Martha worked at McKinsey & Company and Schlumberger, where her focus was on production optimization, well intervention, field operations, and field development planning.

Jed van Iersel serves as a highly skilled Decommissioning Manager at Liberty Industrial, with extensive experience in managing complex offshore and onshore decommissioning projects. Jed specializes in delivering innovative solutions that prioritize safety, environmental stewardship, and cost efficiency.
With a strong technical background and a proven track record in project delivery, Jed is dedicated to supporting clients in achieving sustainable outcomes as the industry transitions toward greener and more responsible practices. His expertise includes asset dismantling, waste management, and regulatory compliance, making him a trusted leader in the decommissioning sector.

Decommissioning & Reuse manager with Wintershall Noordzee. 20 years of experience in the O&G industry in several roles ranging from public affairs and stakeholder management to decommissioning. For the last 7 years managing the WINZ Decommissioning & Reuse team, responsible for budgets, planning and optimization of the WINZ Decom portfolio. I feel comfortable in the role of spider in the web of governmental bodies, JV partners, operators, contractors, international associations (NL, UK, DK) and offshore stakeholders.
Mother of twins (22), an enthusiastic rower and regular visitor of Scandinavia.

54 years old, father of 3 kids, two (2) in the age of 9 and one(1) is 19 years old. 21 years working in the O&G industry. Started as an Electrical Engineer, became a project manager in 2012, did several brown file projects. Did the last green field development project in 2019 (installation of a new build jacket, repositioned a topside (for re-use) and disposal of old jacket). Since 2021 fully occupied with decommissioning projects.

Sigrid Ramuz Bomann-Larsen is Project Director at AF Offshore Decom AS, a specialised contractor delivering integrated solutions for offshore removal and onshore recycling of topsides, jackets, floaters and subsea infrastructure. Since joining in 2017, she has been involved in decommissioning projects across the North Sea and she now serves as the Project Director for AF Environmental Base Vats. Previously, she has worked in DNV as Consultant and in Fearnley Offshore Supply as Market Analyst and Offshore Shipbroker.
Sigrid holds a Master of Science degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).

Francis Norman is CEO of CODA, the Centre of Decommissioning Australia. He has held this role since CODA was established inn 2020. CODA is the Australian peak body for decommissioning, bringing together the entire industry to deliver the best possible outcomes from all decommissioning activity.

In his professional life, Andries brings an impressive 33 years of Project Management experience in offshore Oil and Gas industry. For the last 11 years he works with Heerema Marine Contractors in Leiden, in The Netherlands. Of which the last 6 years, he is Project Director of the Business Line Decomissioning. In this position he is accountable for delivering the global decommissioning portfolio of Heerema projects under contract, through his project teams. During his current leadership an impressive average of 75,000 mT/annually of offshore facilities were safely and predictable removed. He is passionate on excelling the EPRD cycle too higher standards, and playing an important role to the recycling role of the offshore industry.
Prior his current employment he held various Senior Manager roles of amongst others, the position of Operations Director at SBM Offshore in Schiedam, but also held positions in Procurement, QHSE, Construction and Engineering at Stork Protech.

Anette Broch Mathisen Tvedt is the Co-Founder and CEO of Adepth Minerals, leading efforts to establish and build a seabed minerals industry in Norway. With a PhD in Geology from the University of Bergen and a strong background as an explorationist and exploration manager in the oil and gas industry, Anette combines deep scientific expertise with entrepreneurial vision. Her work is focused on explore seabed mineral resources responsibly, contributing to sustainable development and advancing Norway’s position in this emerging field.

Thor Erling have 37 years of experience with oil and gas projects. The last 15 worked for Equinor with decommissioning projects, including all phases from early planning to execution.
Currently holding the position as Project Director for decommissioning projects in Equinor. Member of NPF decommissioning conference program committee and Offshore Norges’s specialist decommissioning network.
