Oil & Finance: New challenges in changing markets

The recent financial turmoil and sharp drop in oil price has significantly impacted the E&P industry. Industry leaders are facing severe challenges as a consequence of falling revenues, investments committed at high cost levels and the lack of financing opportunities.

The program for the first Oil & Finance Conference will explore many of these topics in detail.

Day 1 of the conference will focus on the Global Macro perspective with presentations covering both the general macro outlook and oil market perspectives.

Second part of the day is dedicated to Development on the NCS. The session will be opened by former state secretary Liv Monica Stubholt from the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, presenting their view on the financial crisis’ impact on the NCS. Majors, small cap E&P and utility companies will present their plans and share their experiences. The session will also focus on the financial crisis’ impact on NCS competiveness relative to other petroleum provinces and J.P Morgan will present their view on the transaction market (both asset and corporate level).

Day 2 of the conference will focus on Financing of E&P companies. Topics such as financing of M&A transactions, Reserve based lending, derivatives and perspectives on capital structure will be covered by speakers from leading Norwegian and International banks and oil companies. The participation is dependent on the acceptance of the Chatham House Rule.

The first Oil & Finance Conference provides a unique opportunity to learn from acknowledged experts in the oil and finance field on current Industry trends and challenges. The target group of the conference is CEOs, CFOs, Business Development managers and professionals within the banking sector.

We look forward to seeing you at Holmenkollen Park 29-30 April 2009!
