NPF invites the subsea pipeline, riser, umbilical, and cable community to Trondheim for the 15th anniversary of this conference.

Join this popular networking forum where recent achievements, case studies, industry trends, and new developments are discussed and presented. We are pleased to again invite the subsea pipeline, riser, umbilical, and cable community to Trondheim for the traditional two-day conference. Join this popular networking forum where recent achievements, case studies, industry trends, and new developments are discussed and presented.

The conference format will address topics related to design, installation, operation, and new technology solutions and infrastructure security. As always, this conference will include technical, field-specific, and project-specific presentations and a good time for networking. There will also be a strong focus on future developments with a national and international perspective.

Invitation to submit an Abstract

Over the last year, the momentum behind “green” initiatives have slowed as global political landscapes have shifted, reaffirming the importance of oil and gas in the energy sector. While big, standalone field developments are decreasing, there is growing emphasis on tie-backs to existing infrastructure—these are typically marginal and technologically demanding, often featuring high temperature and high pressure with limited resources at each site.

Meanwhile, operators continue to prioritize cost-effective operations and lifetime extension of assets, with continued attention to the new risk picture —such as increased 3rd party threats— which was a major topic at the last conference held two years ago.

With that backdrop in mind, we are inviting speakers to submit an abstract (~300 words) describing the main ideas of their presentation. We would particularly encourage real case studies focusing on technical/managerial topics, R&D, new technologies and/or recent projects/case studies. Joint presentations between energy companies, contractors, suppliers, and technology providers are welcome. We especially welcome abstracts focused on marginal tie-backs. Topics on recent developments in transportation of non-hydrocarbons are also welcome.

Each accepted speaker gets a presentation time of 20 minutes + 5 min Q&A. There is no requirement for a formal technical paper, but the presentation needs to be submitted for review in due time before the conference. Presentations will preferably be made available online for the conference attendees.

  • Conference language: English
  • Please use the abstract template form on the NPF website and forward to e-mail: hanne.hernes@npf.no
