The 11th NPF Conference on FIELD RESERVOIR MANAGEMENT
On behalf of the programme committee I would like to invite you to “The 11th NPF Conference on Field Reservoir Management” at the Clarion Hotel, Stavanger, Norway.
For history record the first reservoir management conference was arranged by NPF in 1986.
Long term high oil prices together with governmental and industry initiatives on how to ensure a continued sustainable development on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, has led to new ambitions. The committee has chosen ‘Hunting High and Low’ as a topic for this year’s conference. By this we want to set focus on the challenges with hunt for hydrocarbons in mature fields, in the vicinity of those fields and in new stand-alone marginal and more complex fields.
The conference will start on Monday morning May 29 with a session on “New IOR ambitions on the NCS”. In this session, Norwegian Petroleum Directorate and major operators in Norway will elaborate on how to deal with this challenge and opportunity.
The title of session no. 2 is “New drilling technology for marginal targets – can it help?, too complicated?, too costly…?” and will present case histories to address this issue and illuminate best practices. In the last part of this session we will have a special session on “Coiled Tubing Drilling (CTD) and Through Tubing Rotary Drilling (TTRD) technology and potential”, ending up with a round table discussion.
In the afternoon we will set out on a boat trip to the little island of Sør-Hidle and the well-known restaurant “Flor and Fjære”, famous for its spectacular exotic garden and excellent food. (www.florogfjare.no) Please do not miss this opportunity!
The next day, we will run the last two sessions on “Secondary Recovery and Beyond” and “Tertiary Recovery and Beyond”. These sessions will discuss drainage mechanisms and how they can improve sweep and reduce residual oil saturation.
