The 11th NPF North Sea Decommissioning Conference
It is my great pleasure, on behalf of the Norwegian Petroleum Society (NPF), to once again, invite you to the 11th Annual NPF North Sea Decommissioning Conference at Solstrand Hotel from 14th to 16th February 2011.
This is a milestone for us as we will meet exactly ten years on from our inaugural conference. The Programme Committee has established an interesting programme bringing the latest developments in the decommissioning field to the discussion along with an unique forum to learn from operators about their activities and plans. Much of this material is not made available at other conferences. The projects which were of great interest at our first meeting have all been completed with the exception of Ekofisk Phase 1, which is now moving rapidly to completion.
What of the future? A question often asked and which we are constantly striving to answer, if only partially. It is exciting, therefore, that this year we have several companies, who have never spoken before at this conference and who will elaborate upon their experiences and forward thinking. We also address the subject of decommissioning of concrete platforms and single lifter projects that are actually progressing.
This conference, with its first class venue, continues to be recognized by industry as the premier decommissioning gathering. Delegate places will again be at a premium but we still seek to encourage the attendance of senior representatives of oil companies who find themselves operating oil /gas fields close to Cessation of Production. As ever, the themes for this year’s programme will remain:
- Legislation, Project Planning, Cost Drivers, HSE
• 2010 Executed Projects
• Outlook on future projects
• Discussions on major topics (breakout sessions)
In producing the varied and informative agenda the feedback of our long standing delegates has been thoroughly considered and acted upon. We will look beyond the North Sea to get a measure of decommissioning activity in other parts of the world, including the affect of the GoM oil spill upon decommissioning and have a contractor perspective of the future market. The conference programme again contains a balance of the ongoing (updates of current decommissioning projects), the new (addressing future anticipated projects) and the developments in technology and regulation. We will have our popular Breakout discussions addressing key topics within decommissioning.
The conference will present an optional kick off presentation, on Monday evening, on the subject of ”Documenting the North Sea Oil and Gas History following Decommissioning” – seen from both a Norwegian and UK perspective.
Our hard working, knowledgeable and diverse Programme Committee has produced an interesting and up to date programme which, when presented in the exceptional facilities of the Solstrand Hotel, will provide an informative and effective conference.
We look forward to seeing you there in February.

Conference fee:
NPF personal members NOK 8.500,- plus 25% vat
Non-npf-members NOK 8.900,- plus 25% vat
Students have free access to the conference, however,
payments to be made for lunches and conference dinner.
The fee includes:

Payment:
Payment can be done upon registration by credit card (American Express, Master Card, Visa)
If not paid by creditcard you will receive an invoice from Norwegian Petroleum Society (NPF).
Cancellations:
Cancellations must be received in writing by 7th February 2011 and will be subject to a
NOK 900,- cancellation fee unless a substitute delegate is offered. After this date, the full registration fee will apply, however, substitutions will still be accepted. Substitutions for registered delegates may be made at any time, but we would appreciate prior notification.
Conference paper:
Presentations from the conference will be available on Internet after end of conference. Delegates will be informed when available by e-mail.
Programme changes:
It is sometimes necessary to change timing of the programme. The conference organiser will not be liable for any such unavoidable changes.
If you receive duplicates of this brochure with different or incorrect addresses, please return the incorrect brochure to NPF, indicating the changes and we will update our records.

NOK 1.490,- per night (incl. vat) including breakfast, to be paid direct to the hotel.

Bus transportation:
There will be arranged bus transportation from the airport to the hotel on Monday 14th February at 17.15 and 19.30 hrs and on Tuesday morning 15h February at 07.30 hrs.
After end of conference there will be transportation from the hotel to the airport.
