Niels Erik is Head of Licence Management for the Norwegian and Barents Sea at the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD). At NPD Niels Erik has been working mainly with aspects related to development, operations and decommissioning. He has a Master of Science degree in materials technology from The Norwegian University of Science and Technology - NTNU and in Business administration from the Norwegian Business School, BI. Niels Erik has more than 20 years industry experience. Prior to joining the NPD in 2014, he working mainly with operations, procurement and projects in Norsk Hydro, Subsea 7 and Equinor.

More than 30 years’ experience from the oil and gas industry and the last 10 years with field decommissioning projects in Equinor. Current position is project director for the Veslefrikk decommissioning project.

B.Sc in Civil Engineering from Imperial College. Over 35 years experience in the offshore oil and gas industry. Managing projects on the NCS since 1999 for Brown & Root, Fabricom, Marathon, BP and now Aker BP. Managing decommissioning projects since 2013 – most notably the removal and disposal of the Original Valhall Development platforms.

Dag Roar Johansen is Director Ekofisk Cessation within Europe Capital Projects, ConocoPhillips. He has a MSc. in structural engineering from NTH (NTNU).
He has 37 years’ experience within the oil & gas industry of which the last 34 years have been with ConocoPhillips. Through his career he has held various positions including structural engineering within Ekofisk Operations and new-build-projects, and project manager for decommissioning-projects within the Capital Projects dept.

Education: Master in Petroleum Engineering
Worked Statoil from 1990-2011. Started as a reservoir engineer but worked for the 10 years as Project Manager for a number of projects mostly on Sleipner and Gullfaks.
Have worked for Talisman/Repsol from 2011 in various roles but for the last 5 years as Project Manager for the Gyda decommissioning Project.

Tore has 30 years of industry experience in a variety of engineering and commercial roles. His career has split between roles across the North Sea, South East Asia and Australia. For the last 10 years he has been based in Australia focussing on understanding the needs of customers in the region and matching these with unique Norwegian solutions and technologies.

Dr Putra leads the Drilling Research Group, which is responsible for overseeing drilling & well construction technology, including technology for decommissioning & abandonment, within PERTAMINA Group. He has over 12 years’ working experience in the oil & gas industry and is mainly in technology development. Prior to working at PERTAMINA, Dr Putra was a Senior Research Scientist at the Schlumberger Cambridge Research, UK.

Mr Ikhranizam graduated in Electrical Engineering and completed his MBA majoring in Finance from International Islamic University of Malaysia. A Competent Electrical Engineer by background, the ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer is at the moment serves in Decommissioning & Abandonment unit in Project Delivery and Technology Division of PETRONAS where he steers and develops big scales integrated Decommissioning & Abandonment programs. Besides playing as a key figure in advocating D&A collaboration, Ikhranizam had also served as Project Manager for Malaysia’s first Integrated D&A projects in SK305 Block and subsequently served as a D&A Project Head for PETRONAS Carigali D&A Project till Dec 2019. He is currently leading multi Late Life D&A project planning, study and consultancy works in Decommissioning & Abandonment in Malaysia, Thailand and South Sudan. Among other distinctions in this field, Ikhranizam helps organizations to get ready to decommission and abandonment as an operation entity into unique project phase with its own life cycle. He continuously works together within the industry in creating values though process simplifications, and other planning & execution value improvement practices related to D&A.

John is the Decommissioning Director at Enquest PLC where he is accountable for the development of decommissioning capability and project delivery. John is a fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and previously worked for Shell International and Canadian Natural Resources where he led the Murchison, Ninian North and Olowi decommissioning projects. Johns current directorate project portfolio at Enquest includes the Heather and Thistle platforms, Alma-Galia and the Dons fields. John is passionate about reducing both decommissioning costs and carbon emissions through constant challenge of project timing, scope and execution, encouraging a continuous improvement mind-set and building diverse, engaged project teams.

Luis Batalla is Head of Decommissioning at Repsol Sinopec Resources UK and has more than 20 years’ experience in the International Oil and Gas Industry.
Since he started his career as process engineer, he has been holding leadership project management positions in both Oil and Gas Operator and Contractor side internationally both in Offshore and Onshore environments
Luis joined Repsol in 2005 and since then has held roles of increasing responsibility. Prior to arriving in the UK in 2016, he was Facilities Engineering Manager for an Ultra Deepwater development in Brazil for 4 years. He has published several papers on ultradeepwater development as well as in decommissioning. He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and is married with one chid.

Martin Straume, Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering.
Worked onshore and offshore in production, reservoir, completion, well intervention and drilling.
Worked with Plug and Abandonment since 2008, chairman of the Plug & Abandonment Forum for 5 years.
Was Engineering Manager for Valhall DP P&A program.
Current position: Chief Engineer P&A, Aker BP.

Work for Aker BP as a Senior P&A Engineer.
Experience from drilling, completion and intervention from the service industry and operating companies.
Worked with P&A projects since 2009. Technology development has been and will be an important part of what I am working on.
I am always looking for ways to do things smarter – improve to reduce time and cost for P&A operations.
Chairman of the P&A Forum since 2018.

Thomas Dale has over 20 years of experience from a wide range of operations/projects within Drilling, Completion, Slot Recovery and P&A on the NCS. His current position is Lead Engineer P&A Operations for ConocoPhillips operating the Greater Ekofisk Area. His former work experience includes Statoil/Equinor, BP and Wintershall Dea. He holds an M.Sc. degree from The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).

12 years with Smith/Schlumberger (2007-2019) working through a variety of positions within Product Development and Operations Management.

2 years with Archer Oiltools with responsibility for Products and Solutions within P&A and Slot Recovery.

Main expertise is downhole technologies for Drilling, Slot Recovery and P&A operations.

Master’s degree in Petroleum Technology (2009), from Norweigian Uiveristy of Technology and Science, NTNU, Trondheim, Norway. Started up in Equinor (Stjørdal) in 2009 as a Well Engineer, working primarily with planning intervention related operations for various licences.
2012-2014: Senior Engineer for the Heidrun TLP Coiled Tubing Drilling (CTD) Campaign #1.
2014-2016: Project Leader for early phase planning of HD CTD Campaign #2
2016-2018: Senior Engineer for various CT campaigns including involvement in implementation of LEAN in Equinor.
2018: Project leader for various Rigless P&A projects, Drilling & Well Engineering

Norwegian Citizen with an engineering degree in Civil and Offshore Technology.
Close to 40 years experience in the offshore oil and gas industry within engineering, marine operations and project management. Work locations mainly Norway and Canada.

Started at HMC 1980 and went through a variety of roles in the company. Became Project Manager in 1990 and performed as such on multiple projects among which were platform installations, vessel upgrad operations and decommissioning projects.
Recently assigned to HMC’s Business Unit Decom and involved with EPRD projects.

Graduated from TU Delft, The Netherlands, in 2015 and started my career in Shiprepair and Conversion. As assistant Project Manager I was a key part of a project team for the conversion and life-time extension of an FPSO. After project completion I moved to Norway and started in AF Offshore Decom. I currently have the responsibility for a portfolio of decommissioning projects under preparation and execution at the AFOD facilities in Vats, Norway.

Been working in the Oil & Gas industry since 1985 with experience from Topside and Gas plant construction for AkerSolutions and Kvaerner. Joined Deepocean in 2012 as Senior Project Manager with responsibility for subsea project`s such as Johan Sverdrup remote installation of Oil export pipe amongst others. Also served as Project/Country Manager manager for Deepocean in Ghana in 2015/16 with Tullow as the end client.

Currently Deputy Project Manager of the Brent Attic Oil Recovery project at Shell U.K. Ltd, with eight years’ experience in subsea projects and a master’s degree in Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering. A particular interest in novel technology development in projects.

Neil joined Enpro in 2014, where he was initially responsible for field development and project management business streams. In 2017 he assumed the role of Engineering Director accountable for the technical delivery of the business and specific product responsibility for the decommissioning business stream. Neil has 29 years’ industry experience including 12 years as a project manager with independent oil and gas operators CNRL and Apache. Highlights include being responsible for the delivery of full field faciltites in Gabon, West Africa as well as leading the delivery from concept to hand-over to operations of the Callater subsea field development in the UKCS.

Neil has a BEng Honours degree in Engineering from Heriot Watt University, an MBA from the University of Strathclyde Business School, and is a Chartered Engineer registered with the Engineering Council in the UK.

Will Rowley is an internationally recognised and connected energy market specialist of over 22 years’ experience, who creates and delivers opportunities for strategic growth and structural change & development. He has worked for global service companies and major operators with a focus on integrated service development across major market sectors. Will previously led Infield Systems (now Wood MacKenzie) and Douglas-Westwood (now Westwood Global), supporting Governments, businesses and financiers with major investment & acquisition decisions and market development. With over 15 years’ global experience of the late life and decommissioning market, Will has worked with most of the major contractors and key operators to deliver innovative projects and commercial models.
