The 2nd Biennial Petroleum Geology Conference – Exploration Revived 2007

Bergen

The 2nd Biennial Petroleum Geology Conference - Exploration Revived 2007

On behalf of the programme committee I would like to invite you to the 2nd Biennial Geology Conference of the Norwegian Petroleum Society – Exploration Revived 2007. The main objective of the conference is to stimulate improved exploration performance on the Norwegian continental shelf. As in 2005, all papers to be presented have been by invitation. Leading exploration companies/ professionals will present state of the art material on a wide range of  key exploration areas and issues, focusing  on new exploration trends in Norway. We have worked hard to improve further on the successful Exploration Revived conference in Bergen in 2005. For example we have moved the conference to the excellent facilities in Grieghallen. Also we have established the Exploration Revived Award, which will be awarded biennially in connection with the Conference Dinner, based on nominations from the exploration community in Norway to a separate award committee. See you in beautiful Bergen – Don’t risk missing out! Odd Ragnar Heum Chair, Programme Committee Exploration Revived Award The intention behind this award is to stimulate the exploration on the Norwegian shelf. It will be awarded biennially at the NPF Exploration Revived conference in Bergen. The award will be given to groups or companies who, over the preceding two years, have contributed to moving Exploration of the shelf forward by: - Testing new play concepts and/or exploration models - Testing high risk/high potential targets - Exploring for upside potential in producing fields - Reducing exploration risk by developing and/or applying new techniques - Any other combination of ideas, technology and risk taking resulting in revived exploration or production The award will be based on nominations from the exploration community in Norway. It will be decided by a committee appointed by the Exploration Revived conference organizing committee. The prize will consist of a lithographic print and a certificate/diploma. For 2007 the Exploration Revived Award committee consists of: • Vigdis Wiik Jacobsen (chair) - vigdis.jacobsen@gazdefrance.no • Flemming Jørgensen - flemming.jorgensen@altinex.no • Bente Nyland - bente.nyland@npd.no • Hans Chr.
