The Norwegian Petroleum Society (NPF) is pleased to invite you to the
8th annual North Sea Decommissioning Conference
at Solstrand Hotel & Bad.
True to tradition we start out with presentations from the UK and Norwegian authorities reflecting on present decommissioning issues followed by an update on contractual guidance notes and presentations addressing HSE issues.
After years of uncertainty several single lift concepts appear to be going forward. They represent a new technology in platform removal offering an alternative to the traditional heavy lift vessels. We will have updates on all of them.
As we have done every year we will have reports from decommissioning projects under way both on the NCS and UKCS. While Frigg and Ekofisk have dominated the experiences so far, we now see increasing activities on the UK side such as North West Hutton, Brent, and a few more. Each facility appears to have its own unique challenge, and we will get more insight into how these are solved by often introducing new technologies.
Activities in the Gulf of Mexico have many interesting aspects and creative solutions. We can expect a very interesting update as we have had in the past.
We believe that this conference will give you a comprehensive update on the most recent challenges and experiences related to decommissioning of offshore facilities. Again we expect that all segments of the industry will be represented, which makes this a unique venue for making relevant contacts.

Payment:
All delegates will receive an invoice from Norwegian Petroleum Society (NPF)
Cancellations:
Cancellations must be received in writing by 6 February 2008 and will be subject to a
NOK 900,- cancellation feeunless a substitute delegate is offered. After this date, the full registration fee will apply, however, substitutions will still be accepted. Substitutions for registered delegates may be made at any time, but we would appreciate prior notification.
Conference paper:
Presentations from the conference will be available on Internet after end of conference. Delegates will be informed when available by e-mail.
Programme changes:
It is sometimes necessary to change timing of the programme. The conference organiser will not be liable for any such unavoidable changes.
If you receive duplicates of this brochure with different or incorrect addresses, please return the incorrect brochure to NPF, indicating the changes and we will update our records.
Accommodation:
Solstrand Hotel & Bad, Os (near Bergen), Norway
NOK 1.200,- per night (incl. vat) including breakfast, to be paid direct to the hotel.
Bus transportation:
There will be arranged bustransportation from the airport to the hotel on Monday 11th February at 21.30 hrs and on Tuesday morning 12th February at 07.45 hrs.
After end of conference there will be transportation from the hotel to the airport.
