The 9th NPF North Sea Decommissioning Conference
It is my great pleasure, on behalf of the Conference Committee and the Norwegian Petroleum Society, to invite you to “The 9th Annual North Sea Decommissioning Conference”on 10th and 11th February 2009.
At the time of writing this invitation the Industry and the world has recently experienced record high oil prices and is now entering the grip of financial turmoil. We cannot know what the situation will be by the time of our conference, nor its conclusion, however, we do know that, no matter what occurs, the obligations and duties associated with offshore Oil & Gas facility decommissioning will remain and require ongoing attention.
We will get an update on the ongoing decommissioning issues in the UK. This year we are fortunate to include a perspective on the Norwegian regulatory position and how Scotland, specifically, seeks to support the decommissioning activity.
Contributions include a progress review of all the current decommissioning projects from operators, offshore contractors and disposal yards.
We will also demonstrate how the feedback from the 2008 Breakout discussions has been used by the UK Industry Work Group and intend to afford a further opportunity for such useful interaction.
The conference will also discuss developments in well P&A and the removal of subsea structures, not forgetting to bring in aspects from other industries (the removal of a wrecked submarine) or areas such as the Gulf of Mexico where lessons or techniques can be transferred to the decommissioning activity elsewhere.
As ever the Conference Committee has worked to produce an interesting and relevant programme which, when presented in the exceptional facilities of the Solstrand Hotel,
will produce an informative and effective conference.
We look forward to seeing you there in February 2009.

NPF personal members NOK 7.700,-plus 25% vat

If not paid by creditcard you will receive an invoice from Norwegian Petroleum Society (NPF).
Cancellations:
Cancellations must be received in writing by 30th January 2009 and will be subject to a
NOK 900,-cancellation fee unless a substitute delegate is offered. After this date, the full registration fee will apply, however, substitutions will still be accepted. Substitutions for registered delegates may be made at any time, but we would appreciate prior notification.
Conference paper:
Presentations from the conference will be available on Internet after end of conference. Delegates will be informed when available by e-mail.
Programme changes:
It is sometimes necessary to change timing of the programme. The conference organiser will not be liable for any such unavoidable changes.
If you receive duplicates of this brochure with different or incorrect addresses, please return the incorrect brochure to NPF, indicating the changes and we will update our records.

Bus transportation:
There will be arranged bus transportation from the airport to the hotel on Monday 9th February at 21.15 and 22.30 hrs and on Tuesday morning 10th February at 07.45 hrs.
After end of conference there will be transportation from the hotel to the airport.
