Young Energy Conference 2020

ONLINE

Young Energy Conference, 18th November 2020

Conference language: English

Due to the increasing spread of Covid-19, the Norwegian Petroleum Society (NPF) and the program committee has decided to arrange this year’s Young Energy Conference as a webinar.

NPF takes its precautions seriously where health and safety will always be of the highest priority. This goes for the oil & gas sector at large and both travel restrictions and conference bans will continue in the months to come. It is sad not to be able to physically gather for both professional and social networking. We know that you, like us, have been looking forward to it. NPF will nevertheless do its outmost as an organiser to ensure that this year’s conference will be just as good despite the change in format.

Welcome to this year’s event for young professionals
in the oil and gas industry!

The conference is a nationwide event for young people aged 34 years or younger working in the oil and gas industry. The event is aimed at giving you a chance to look beyond your day-to-day activities through giving valuable insights into key topics of the energy industry. NPF also wants to provide an arena for you to meet other young professionals in the industry that might inspire you today or prove valuable in the future.

Highlights

At this year’s Young Energy Conference you will hear from Tina Bru, Minister of Petroleum and Energy, on the importance of the oil and gas industry in Norway and the energy transition. Continuing on this topic, Alexander Furnes from Shell will take us through how we can store CO2 on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

The brand of the energy industry is changing, the “The Big Picture – Perspectives from Young Industry Representatives” will give insight into responses among the younger generation on the image of the business along with opportunities and challenges.

Changing is also how we work and where we work. Aina Bugge from Lundin Energy Norway will share her reflections about the digital evolution in geoscience and how Lundin aim to extract more resources from the underground.

You can expect participants from all parts of the energy business, so be prepared to learn and digitally network to broaden your skillset and meet new people through the day.

On behalf of the committee, I welcome you to Young Energy 2020!

Best regards,

Adrian Holm, Equinor
