Big success for the Annual Petroleum Economics Conference

The Annual Petroleum Economics Conference took place at Clarion Hotel Energy in Stavanger 28-29 October. Finally we could all meet for a physical conference again!

We had a successful virtual event last years, but nothing beats to meet in person and talk to each other face to face. It was a great atmosphere throughout the two days and it was clear that both the audience and the speakers were all very excited to meet again.

This year’s program covered a vast range of topics all very relevant for the E&P professionals; Energy Markets, The Macro Environment, Commercial Models and various presentations addressing the energy transition to a low carbon future. It is good to see that companies in the E&P industry are committed to reduce emissions in line with the defined 2030 and 2050 targets.

The conference is an important arena to network and meet new colleagues. During the last couple of years it has become a tradition to have a beer tasting before the traditional conference dinner. This year was no exception, and we were lucky to have Lervig Brewery sharing their knowledge with us. This event has become very popular and people appreciated the opportunity to meet both new and old colleagues from the industry. As the chair of the conference committee, I would rate the conference a big success, which was also confirmed by the overall high rating from the participants from the survey that was sent out after the event.

We hope to see everyone again next year!
